Dear lords,

Here goes the developer log again! Since the Territory War is in full swing on the Steel Land, we bring you the creators of Territory War for debriefing!

In the Territory War, each team is able to engage in 2 battles, as an Attacker or Defender, in some kind of situation, both of them. Launching an assault creates a BATTLEFRONT, which also gives you a vulnerable REAR too. The battlefront gives you an entrance to BATTLE but also offers your enemy an Attack Of Opportunity. A defeat as Defender means your team have been wiped out, a defeat as Attacker only means a retreat for few minutes.

The traditional Room-based Real-Time Open World Strategy Games (such as Mount & Blade and Total Wars) allow players to get involved in the engaged battle as an Assister, and the battle size is without limited, which means we could throw everything we’ve got into a single battle, a skirmish of 20 players could become a campaign of thousands. I say, It’s too dramatic, not realistic, battle size should always be an issue. Competitive games require better game experience, the traditional assisting operation had never cared about the game experience of the first 20 players who started the battle, for Tactic is no longer an issue but number of players dose and the battle itself has become an endless, game experience is not ideal...A turn of Territory War only lasts for 2 hours, after all...

I’m glad that, players in increasing numbers have came to BOS, for we all love in competitive games. The battle size of our Territory War is 20 players, it is exactly suits the competitive plays of the Legion War, and the game experience of the first 20 players will not be changed. besides, allies of the first 20 players could always wage another battle by Attack Of Opportunity and create as many battle entrances as possible for each 20 players, and provide an ideal game experience for each battle. On the other hand, the Attack Of Opportunity offers a unique, exciting and challenging experience for GUILD leaders, for commanding multiple combat units. Large guilds may be able to wage many 20-players-battles, but a tiny guild may also calls forth its full potential for at last one battle with their own, sometimes, even decisively. Thus everyone is able to enjoy the Territory War by his own way.

Furthermore, the Attack Of Opportunity system is also a countermeasure against cheating in locking the city, for example, an owner of city had arranged a siege with 10 of his own sock puppets and let them go AFK in the battle, nobody else could harm the city, but to wait till the battle is over. Locking the city with sock puppets, this kind of behavior negatively affects the player experience of others, under no circumstances, we can’t bear cheaters destroy our game experience! As such, the Attack Of Opportunity system solves the problem by attacking those sock puppets from the rear (usually defenseless), let’s take them out and lay siege!
